Signs Your Meter Needs An Upgrade

Here are some signs that your meter is due for an upgrade:

  1. You are unable to recharge or load tokens.
  2. Your meter gives inaccurate readings.
  3. Check your vending receipt or token; the meter has been rolled over if KRN 2 is written. If, however, KRN 1 is written on it, it requires upgrading.

If you notice any of these issues, contacting KAEDCO to request a meter upgrade is recommended. An outdated meter can cause you issues, and updating it would eliminate any issues you may be experiencing.

  • The upgrade will not affect your existing credit unit balance on the meter. This means you will retain all credit during the process.
  • Once your meter is upgraded with the KCTs, you won’t need to do it again.

If your meter fails to load energy tokens after being upgraded with the KCTs, contact Kaduna Electric for assistance. They will investigate the issue and help you get your meter working properly again.
