The Design & Features Expectations of 2024 Suzuki Swift

   2024 Suzuki Swift

Prior, Suzuki shared with us the primary look of the up and coming Swift concept which is set to create its worldwide make a big appearance at the Japan Portability appear, set to happen on October 26. The pictures shared by Suzuki gave us the thought of the overhauls that the next-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will include, and here are 5 desires we have from the hatchback.

Design

The Suzuki Swift concept’s images indicate that the next-gen model will have a familiar silhouette, though with some big design changes. It will feature a sharper front with new LED headlights and a slightly smaller but aggressively styled grille.

The profile seems similar to the current/gen Swift, but will feature conventional door handles  instead of the current model’s C-pillar door handles  and new alloy wheels. At the rear, the refreshed Swift will feature black bumper inserts and inverted C-shaped LED taillights. The design of the concept looks almost production-ready, and we suspect most of the design touches will be retained.

Interior

The Swift concept’s dashboard design and layout is similar to Maruti’s new models like the Fronx, Grand Vitara, and Baleno. However, to give it a sportier appeal, the model now features a new dual-tone black/white interior colour theme. It also gets a flat-bottom steering wheel, analogue dials as well as toggle switches for climate controls.

We suspect the new Swift to get a 9-inch touchscreen system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, analogue dials with multi-info display, automatic climate control, keyless entry, and push-button start-stop.

Apart from the usual safety kit such as airbags and electronic stability control, the new-gen Swift will come equipped with a bunch of ADAS features including autonomous braking assist, automatic high beam assist, and more.

Powertrain

Suzuki has been tight-lipped on the engine specifications of the upcoming Swift but we speculate a hybrid powertrain will be on the cards given the carmaker’s emphasis on a “high-efficiency engine that strikes a balance between driving performance and fuel efficiency.” The current India-spec model is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine which delivers 89PS and 113Nm, paired to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission. Notably, the petrol powertrain can also be specced with a optional CNG kit.

Expected Launch

The next-gen Swift is all set to make its debut at the Japan Mobility Show, scheduled between October 26 and November 5, 2023.  We expect the new model to launch in India next year. You can expect a price increase with the launch of the new-gen model in the Indian market. As of now, the Maruti Swift starts at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The next-gen Swift will continue its competition with vehicles like the Tata Punch and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, while being a hatchback alternative to the Renault Triber.
